I saw a picture of a ballerina one day and immediately pictured her on a top. I wanted the dress to stretch all the way across the front panel, with the fringe at the hem acting like the ends of her skirt. It took a bit of fiddling to get it right, but I love how it turned out—soft, floaty, and rhythmic, but still simple to make.
And one unexpected detail? The top is reversible. I didn’t even plan for that. I just put it on and realized it worked both ways.
