This dress almost broke me.
Honestly. It was supposed to have shoulder shaping at first, but once I finished the front and back panels, sewed them together, and tried it on… disaster. The fabric didn’t drape down — it stuck up like spikes. Imagine that.
So I had to undo half of the work on both panels and redesign everything from scratch. And here’s the kicker: I only had two days to figure it out. Tuesday was panic mode, because Thursday is release day. Somehow, I pulled it off.
And now I actually love this version even more. It’s easier to wear, more comfortable, and versatile enough for many occasions. Plus it is so warm. I am convinced I’ll never be cold in winter again with this dress. I even tested it under my winter jacket — it fits perfectly, big sleeves and all. I was worried it would be too chunky, but it slid right under.
The Alpine Dress is oversized, cozy, and textured with the alpine stitch. It’s the kind of piece you can throw on with leggings or tights for a relaxed look, or dress up for an evening out. However you style it, you’ll feel wrapped up and warm.
