If you're looking for a quick little crochet project that uses barely any yarn and works up in just a few minutes, this easy crochet flower is perfect.
It's beginner friendly, super relaxing to make, and honestly one of those tiny projects you'll keep coming back to again and again. You can use it as a bookmark, bag charm, gift tag, keychain, little decoration, appliqué, or anything else you can think of.
And the best part? You only need a few basic stitches.
What You'll Need
Yarn
I used Katech Pure Cotton yarn in three colors:
-
Mustard Yellow
-
Bright Red
-
Slate Green
This project only uses a tiny amount of yarn, so it's perfect for using up leftovers from other projects.
Every stitch deserves the right yarn 🧶 I've gathered some of my favorite yarns & tools here 🤎 https://a.co/d/02toT06o (affiliate link - as an Amazon Associate, I may earn from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you)
Hook
-
3.5 mm crochet hook
Or simply use the hook size recommended for your yarn.
Other Tools
-
Scissors
-
Yarn needle
Skill Level
Basic / beginner friendly.
You'll only use:
-
chains
-
single crochets
-
double crochets
-
slip stitches
No complicated shaping, no counting hundreds of stitches, and no stressful construction.
How The Flower Is Made
You'll start with a tiny center ring and crochet one round of single crochets into it.
After that, you'll crochet the petals directly into those stitches to create the flower shape.
Once the flower is finished, you'll add a long stem that can be used to tie it onto bags, gifts, books, or anything else you want.
It's such a simple little project, but it ends up looking so cute.
Ways To Use Your Crochet Flower
One of my favorite things about this project is how versatile it is.
You can use your flower as:
-
a bookmark
-
a bag charm
-
a gift tag
-
a keychain
-
a little decoration
-
an appliqué for bags or clothing
-
a plant decoration
-
scrapbook or cardmaking decor
Honestly, once you make one, you'll probably want to make ten more.
