The pattern includes three sizes: XS/S, M/L, and XL/2XL. Each creates a square panel (115cm, 125cm, or 135cm) that becomes a long, oversized cardigan falling at knee length.
Choose your size based on your bust measurement:
- XS/S: 74-84 cm / 29-33 in
- M/L: 94-104 cm / 37-41 in
- XL/2XL: 115-125 cm / 45-49 in
The cardigan is designed to fit very oversized with a wide, cocoon silhouette. The sample shown is XS/S on an 82cm (32 in) bust.
But here's the flexibility: This is a made-to-measure pattern. The panel must be square, but you control the size. Want a longer cardigan? Make a larger square. Prefer it shorter or cropped? Make a smaller square. Need a wider armhole? Leave more unseamed during assembly. The construction method makes it easy to adjust.
Working the diamond lace stitch
The diamond lace stitch follows a straightforward 8-row repeat using chains, single crochet, and double crochet. The video tutorial walks through each row in detail, so even if you're new to lace stitches, you'll have visual support.
Your foundation chain needs to be a multiple of 9 + 2, which keeps the diamond pattern consistent across all sizes.
