I designed this top with a crochet shell stitch. It’s a very easy two piece construction that’s sewn together after.

It’s beginner friendly, super stylish and simple to make.

  • Hook:  4 mm/G-6, 3 mm/D-3
  • Yarn Needle, Scissors, Measuring Tape

Size

Small

Stitch Key (US terminology)

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • 5dc = 5 double crochets in the same stitch
  • sk = skip
  • st = stitch
  • sts = stitches
  • slst = slip stitch
  • slsts = slip stitches

Specialty Stitch & Technique Key

Notes

  • The top is made of two panels (front and back).
  • Ch2 never counts as a stitch.
  • Crochet from bottom to top.

Instructions

With a 4 mm hook ch 158.

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sk2, 5dc, sk2, *sc, sk2, 5dc, sk2* repeat across, finishing with a sc in the last st.

Assembling

You will sew the sleeves and the neck hole in 4 places. 1st three sts from the left and from the  right side edge – slst in these three sts.

The neck hole is 26 cm / 10,2 inches. Make 4  slsts to sew the shoulders together.

On the bottom edge you will be making slsts to reach the waist width 44 cm / 17,3 inches.

Watch my You Tube tutorial if there are any doubts on how to assemble the top.

Weave in all the ends and your top is ready to wear.
