I had this idea simmering in my mind for a while—a dress that’s all at once relaxed, playful, and just a bit swingy. You know, the kind of dress you can throw on and instantly feel like you’re ready for a walk through a blooming garden or a breezy coffee date. That’s how the Luna Swing Dress came to life!

I started sketching and playing with stitches, and the Linked Double Crochet stitch quickly became the star of the show. It’s so smooth and creates this dreamy, lightweight fabric with just the right amount of drape. I knew I had to go for a simple silhouette, but with that beautiful swing that makes you want to twirl (and yes, I’ve done a few spins around the living room in this one—no shame!).
The Luna Swing Dress is a true joy to make. You’ll start by creating two panels, sew the shoulders together, and then dive right into the sleeves and those must-have pockets.

Notes
- You will start by making two panels, front and back, and sew the shoulders together. Next, you will crochet the sleeves and attach them to the panels. Then, you will create the pockets directly onto the panels. Finally, sew the sides of the body and sleeves together and finish with one round of sc around the neckhole.
- Ch 2 doesn’t count as a stitch.
