When one stitch becomes your entire personality
I am in love with the alpine stitch. There, I said it. I recently tested the two-color version and honestly? I went a little crazy over how beautiful it turned out. The texture, the depth, those gorgeous raised diamonds… I knew immediately I needed to make a full winter set with it.
Some of you might remember my Alpine Stitch Sweater from earlier last year (one of your favorites, and mine too!). And then the Alpine Dress I just released. Well, I couldn't stop there. The alpine stitch had more to give, and I had more ideas brewing.
Making it seamless
One of the things I'm most proud of with this set? I finally figured out how to make the join look as seamless as possible when working in the round. And I think it turned out great! No more obvious seam lines interrupting those beautiful stitch patterns. The rounds just flow. (The pattern walks you through every step so you can get that same seamless look.)
That pom pom though
Can we talk about the hat for a second? I wanted a BIG pom pom. Not a little one. A statement pom pom that says "yes, I'm cozy and I'm proud of it."
And I love, love, LOVE how it turned out.
Making pom poms is actually really easy, as long as you tie that final knot VERY tightly. Trust me on this. If you don't, you risk it falling apart later. Learn from my early pom pom mishaps. 😅 The video tutorial shows you exactly how to do it right.
Perfect timing
Gift season is here, and this set is the perfect weekend project if you want to make something special for someone you love. A handmade hat and scarf set? That's the kind of gift people remember. Or keep it for yourself. No judgment here, you deserve cozy things too.
