The Scarlet Dress features the lemon peel stitch for texture that looks polished, not bulky. This dress is worked seamlessly from the top down with raglan construction and dramatic tiered ruffles on the sleeves and hem created with V-stitch. The dress falls at mid-thigh with adjustable length for both body and sleeves. Worked in lightweight cotton, it's versatile enough for year-round wear. The gathered ruffles add bold, flared volume and movement.

Lemon peel stitch - explained in the gauge section.
- This pattern includes a full video tutorial linked on the front page for steps that are easier to show than tell.
- The dress is worked seamlessly from the top down. The all-over stitch pattern, combined with lightweight yarn, creates a versatile piece that can be worn year-round. Generous gathered ruffles on the sleeves and hem create bold, flared volume.
- The finished dress length falls at mid-thigh, though you can adjust it to any length. Keep in mind that extra yarn will be needed for added length.
- Yoke has four sides. The side with the round-joining seam is the back, and all joins occur at the center back. The opposite side is the front, with the two sides in between forming the sleeves.
- Even-numbered rows on the “Body” and “Sleeve Body” are worked on the right side (RS).
- The turning chain does not count as a stitch in this pattern. Each turning chain is a ch 1, even when the first stitch of the round is a double crochet. This is intentional to match the height of a single crochet and helps make the back seam less visible.
- “Work in pattern sequence” means to alternate double crochet and single crochet stitches, placing each dc into a sc and each sc into a dc. When working into decreased stitches from the previous round, continue the established stitch pattern.
- Both the dress length and sleeve length are adjustable, with instructions included in the pattern.
