Polka Dot Holes Stitch

Chain a multiple of 8 + 1.

  1. Row 1: hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook and across.
  2. Row 2: ch 1, turn. 1 hdc in 1st 3 sts, *chdc in next 2 sts, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, ch 2, sk 2, 1 hdc in next 2 sts*. Repeat from * to * until 5 sts remain. Chdc in next 2 sts, 1 hdc in last 3 sts.
  3. Row 3: ch 1, turn. Hdc in every st, 2 hdc in every ch 2 sp.
  4. Row 4: ch 1, turn. 1 hdc in 1st 3 sts, *ch 2, sk 2, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, chdc in next 2 sts, 1 hdc in next 2 sts*. Repeat from * to * until 5 sts remain. Ch 2, 1 hdc in last 3 sts.
  5. Row 5: ch 1, turn. Hdc in every st, 2 hdc in every ch 2 sp.

For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-5.

Notes
  • You’ll begin by crocheting two panels: front and back. The pockets are added directly onto each panel. Then, sew the shoulders together, followed by the side seams and pocket edges.
