The Pumpkin Dress is a seamless, oversized raglan dress worked from the top down. It begins with a deep cowl neck, then flows into a wide yoke and relaxed body. Crocheted in a light yarn with a simple stitch pattern, it’s cozy yet breathable and designed for year-round wear.
The sleeves are worked directly onto the body and shaped into a soft 3/4 length. The finished dress sits at mid-thigh, though both sleeve and body length are easy to customize.

The gauge for the cowl neck differs from the main gauge. Be sure to check both to confirm you are using the correct hook sizes for your tension. In the sample, a 4 mm hook was used throughout, but you may need two different hooks depending on your tension.
Body and sleeves:
- 16 sts x 14.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) (lemon peel stitch)

For swatch:
- Ch 25.
 - Row 1: Dc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, *dc in next ch, sc in next ch; repeat from * to the end of the row. (24)
 - Row 2: Ch 1, turn. *Dc in next sc, sc in next dc; repeat from * to the end of the row. (24)
 - Repeat Row 2 until your swatch measures about 5 in (13 cm) high. For accuracy, measure only the center 4 in (10 cm) of the swatch — avoid the first and last rows and the edge sts.

Cowl neck ribbing:
- 18 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) (sc blo)

    - This pattern includes a full video tutorial linked on the front page for steps that are easier to show than tell.
 - The Pumpkin Dress is an oversized raglan dress, worked seamlessly from the top down with a deep yoke and relaxed cowl neck. The all-over stitch pattern, combined with light yarn, creates a cozy piece that can be worn year-round.
 - This design is meant to fit oversized, with a wide bust and 3/4-length sleeves. The finished dress length falls at mid-thigh, though you can adjust it to any length. Keep in mind that extra yarn will be needed for added length.
 - Yoke has four sides. The side with the round-joining seam is the back, and all joins occur at the center back. The opposite side is the front, with the two sides in between forming the sleeves.
 - Odd-numbered rows on the “Body” and “Sleeve Body” are worked on the right side (RS).
 - The turning chain does not count as a stitch in this pattern. Each turning chain is a ch 1, even when the first stitch of the round is a double crochet. This is intentional to match the height of a single crochet and helps make the back seam less visible.
 - “Work in pattern sequence” means to alternate double crochet and single crochet stitches, placing each dc into a sc and each sc into a dc. When working into decreased stitches from the previous round, continue the established stitch pattern.
 - At the end of each lemon peel stitch round, don’t cut the yarn—just drop it and pick it back up when it’s time to use it again. You’ll alternate rounds in this order: yarn A, then yarn B and repeat—A, B, A, B...
 - Both the dress length and sleeve length are adjustable, with instructions included in the pattern.
